If you are new to creating beaded jewellery, here are some tips to make your hobby worthwhile. These are simple guidelines that can make your jewellery creating endeavour fun.
Read and learn as much as you can
Read a lot of articles in this site or else where to get new ideas and techniques. Reading how other people create their stuff will give you an idea on the thought process needed to create your own. If you want you can attend your local bead jewellery class if there is one near you.
Get inspired
I always say that inspiration is very important in creating beautiful jewellery. So go and get inspired now! Look at pictures and go to stores. Heck even buy ones that you like! You can also look at nature to get inspiration.
Be creative
You want something unique! You want something different! Be creative! Ask yourself what other people are NOT doing and then do it! Experiment with combinations!
Don't Complicate Things
If you are beginning the hobby, always do something simple. The simple glass bangles are a good choice to start off with. You don't want to get dissuaded by starting of with a complex head piece. Keep things simplest first.
Stock up with stones
Always have a little bit more materials than you think you need. A whole bunch may look a lot to the inexperienced but they are actually less than they look. Once you string 'em up you will know what I mean. the point is always have a lot of materials on hand until you get the feel of the hobby.
Never Give Up
At times things can get frustrating. You will get into creative dry spells, or encounter technical issues. But as long as you never give up, you will create wonderful custom jewellery!
Have Fun
The most important thing to remember is always have fun! If you feel tired about the hobby, take a few days off.
