Previously on this Beaded Jewelry Blog, I talked about my latest distraction from the world of fashion and handmade beaded jewelry, namely my new pair of fighting fish. I just want to post a new update about my lovely fighting fish. My male, a beautiful long finned fish, has started to make bubbles. His name, by the way, is Fish-Fish, because at the time, I had no idea what to call her. The female fish I called "Amy", after the popular beaded jewelry crystal amethyst, although she is not similar to color with the actual amethyst stone, she is definitely as pretty!

According to many websites, a happy fighting fish (well, at least the males), tend to make bubble nests. Judging on the huge nest Fish-Fish has made, I think he is very very happy with his new home! That makes me happy as well. For those of you not in the know, a bubble nest is something some male fighting fish build on top of the tanks. From a far, it will look like foam. They use it to breed and keep baby fish (that's why its called a nest!). When breeding is out of season, so to speak, I think its just their hobby to occupy their time I guess - pretty much like beading jewelry for most of us.

If you want to see what a bubble nest looks like, here is a cute picture I got off from the internet. Not too bad a find as my Fish-Fish looks pretty much the same as the one pictured below.

Amy, on the other-hand is getting a bit fat, but her colors are now prettier than ever if I might add. So thats it for my latest fighting fish update.
